Project Based Learning

In my math classroom, I integrate project based learning opportunities for students. Three times a week we have "choice time" where students have options for independent exploration. One of the choices they are provided with is a monthly project. Below is an example of the November choice project. The project touches on a variety of math skills and students must use problem solving and reasoning skills to work their way through each problem. Students have a workbook that matches each slide for them to show their work and thinking. At the end of the month, students will make a lunch appointment with me to explain their thinking and review their answers in a one-on-one setting.
